For the Lummi Youth Academy

May the students and faculty of Lummi Youth Academy fly and speak, fly and speak with stories and songs that depict their sacred lives.

Like an earthworm
God-forces pluck you
from the soil.

You so like a hungry bird
a Steller’s jay, squawking
feed me, feed me.

Into Love’s beak you go.
Don’t be scared.
On this planet

there is a purpose
a reason for
highly sensitive beings.

Majestic Blue-black,
feel your wings spread
the wind beneath you

renewed anew
to fly and speak
fly and speak.

Poem from Central Heating written by Betty Scott.
